Good thread. Point taken. Now, how to make maximum usage of the whole Revit parametric concept to represent as many different options in a given family as exist for that particular type. For example, options could be variable length, emergency power or not, surface mount or recessed to name a few. Watch Joel Londenburg video from 2008 AU Revit MEP On-Line Class for some ideas on how to do some of these things.

I really hope that this Parameters are better
